Emulsion
8mm Slideshow on manipulated Viewer

During my studies at Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film I once accidentally made a fortunate mistake when developing a film. Because of the wrong order of chemicals, the emulsion was released from the filmstrip and dissolved partly. After the first shock, I saw new and beautiful images that arose after drying. I wanted to use the original material for a skate video/documentary, so I decided to use that mistake to tell an overdramatized story of my friends fighting the film emulsion in which they seem to be stuck. For that, I rebuilt a super 8 viewer so it automatically rewinds the filmstrip and stops after 6 frames. I also took out the shutter so it is possible to see the filmstrip without any pause.
